Well you could have noted the positions of each of the bolts as you removed the pump from the block.  But since you didn't do that, your car is still sitting in my garage while you are driving mine!

Just kidding, bro.  I hope someone can help you out because I can't remember where they go and they aren't the same as the ones in my '87 LS.

If anyone knows the answer to this question, please let us know.  I tried a forum search to no avail.  If you need pics, let me know and I'll see if I can get some decent ones.  Thanks in advance.

No one can help?  Does anyone know if we could just use trial and error?  Like run the longest bolt into each place until we find the one it fits in?  Then do the same with the next longest bolts?

Start any one with the pump in place...

THEN keep swapping them around till only 5/8"-7/8" of each bolt protrudes from the pump... After most are correct, swap the original if it is a noticeably different length from the others...

Depends on which side of the belt drives it. I'm pretty sure all serpentine belt 5.0 cars have a reverse rotation pump (pulley driven by smooth side of belt). If the pump is driven by the ribbed side it would be forward rotation.

Only on the Fox bodies... The full size 5.0 models use a dual belt system with a clockwise rotation pump(runs on the ribs)...

Thanks for the input guys.  And thanks Lion-O for jacking the post!  LOL

We got the pump back on correctly. Now we've got to tackle the bolt that broke off inside one of the holes on the alternator bracket.  *sigh*

Don't you hate that? There impossible to find unless there used(IE junkyard). I broke all three when I did my timing chain cover.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
