Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics June 11, 2008, 01:26:38 AM Hey all, I know I have been a member here for about a month now and I fell in love with the site and I figured it was abourt time to post pics of my 88 TC. I originally found this car in someones front yard. I drove by it plenty of times and could never tell what it was due to the fact that it was completely submerged with oak leaves and a really hashed car cover that looks like it was on there for about 10 years or so. Well I was right.. One day about 3 months ago we had some really nasty weather and it had managed to blow up a corner of the car cover. I stopped and looked closer. What I could see is the corner of the rear bumper and part of the trunk lid, and I could see the TurboCoupe emblem.. I got jazzed and knocked on there door! The lady said that her mother passed away in 1999 and the car sat there since. She saw my enthusiasm and ssid "I think it still runs, if you want it, you can have it!" I towed it outta there the same day and the car underwent fuel system surgery. After a major cleaning and some minor repairs to the HVAC unit after rats decided to make it there summer home, and a full checkup and tuneup, this is what I ended up with! And I can litteraly tell you out of all the Tbirds I have owned in my life including some Super Coupes, im truely in love with this machine, it is by far a keeper!Well this is what I ended up with, lemmie know what you guys think. And yes that is an LX Front header panel. The orig owner backed into the TC header panel with a truck trailer hitch. Cant seem to find a TC header panel... Lemmie know what you guys think.. THIS IS MY 9004 HID CONVERSION!! MAN THEY ARE BRIGHT!!! Quote Selected

Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics Reply #5 – June 11, 2008, 11:23:33 AM Thanks guys, yes the HID kit is simple to connect, ill put up some pics today of the installation. Yeah the car runs good, A/C works, heater and all accesoories. Moonroof has a new seal as well, but a pain in the rear to service, the gear strips out, I made some parts for it in my machine shop. Seemed to help! If you have a power moonroof in your car, dont even operate it without lubricating it first! Use synthetic motorcycle chain grease, it works awesome! Quote Selected
Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics Reply #6 – June 11, 2008, 09:53:57 PM Looks great man - I can't imagine picking up a TC for free - I paid $700 and have LOTS of work to do still. You even have maps pockets!Check out the NatoMessageBoard.com site - should be able to find a header panel there for sure. Quote Selected

Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics Reply #9 – June 12, 2008, 12:13:17 AM Well as promised, Here are the HID ballasts mounted and connections. This conversion is as easy as pie! Looks awesome too!As you can see there is ample amout of room to mount the ballasts. The headlight connectors are easy. They resemble the 9007 female and plugs directly into the harness. The only down side is I no longer have High beams. No worries, im going to find a way to incorperate them in. But seriosly trust me, I dont need em! Quote Selected
Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics Reply #10 – June 12, 2008, 12:30:06 AM Are those using stock headlight housings? Those probably arent legal or safe if so... It looks like theyre just putting blobs of light out in front of the car and not dispersing the beam like they should. Quote Selected
Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics Reply #11 – June 12, 2008, 01:48:52 AM Yeah there stock housings. I am planning to modify the beam by installing beam blockers like the 96/97 headlights have. But as of now no compaints and i have adjusted them down a bit.Quote from: bhazard;223182Are those using stock headlight housings? Those probably arent legal or safe if so... Finally!! Pics of my ride + HID conv. pics Reply #14 – June 17, 2008, 12:50:59 PM You guys are right, I dont do alot of night driving but I have started to get complaints and I have tried everything to disperse the light correctly and cannot seem to do it... I put my stock bulbs back in. I am however taking another set of lights apart and making custom projectors! Should be sweet and ill take pics when im done!
