Multi topic question March 07, 2005, 07:04:21 PM Allright, I haven't been posting on here in a while, cause my car was garaged. just recently got it paitned, rims bodykit the whole nine yards. but there is still more to go. the main problem right now, is my horn broke. the actual horn ed out n i need to know where the hell it is. i plan on replaceing it with a newer sports car horn cause i was never much for stock. another thing is i hear u can clean the light casings and such by popping the clear plastic off the front, how exactly do u go about doing that, just with a knife n kit it off? srry for being a pain in the ass but as the weather is warmer im workin on the car again Quote Selected
Re: Multi topic question Reply #1 – March 07, 2005, 08:31:49 PM i honestly forgot which side but there are two,(should be) horns.i am however, positve they are mounted up in the fender. Im pretty sure they are on the driver side because i remember having difficulty getting the washer fluid harness plugged back in with them in my way.your horns can be seen by laying on your back and looking up into the fender just forward of the driver wheel.as for the headlamp lenses,, i took off the covers with ease by using a sharp knive. they finally give in but its not easy to separate. I ended up buying a new set here. Quote Selected

Re: Multi topic question Reply #3 – March 08, 2005, 08:15:56 AM Remove the front bumper and header panel and they are right there below the washer fluid. They're only bolted on with a few bolts. As for the lights, use a putty knife and pry it between the lense and housing, twist a little and go around the entire lense until it pops off. Try to remove the old sealant and put new stuff on cause it's hard to put it back on with the old sealant. Quote Selected
Re: Multi topic question Reply #4 – March 08, 2005, 09:38:05 AM Horns are inside the driver side front fender, base & LX models generally only have one(second one was optional) the Sport and TC should have two. When the daughters TC horn quit, I bolted one from my neighbors Firebird onto the front radiator support(it only had one and it was bent, fender had been repl due to a previous accident). You can mess with those lenses all you want, but they'll never be anywhere nearly as bright as new ones... Re: Multi topic question Reply #5 – March 10, 2005, 12:21:13 PM If you're talkin about foggy lenses, a good way to clear them up is to first, take all of them out of the header panel, second wash each one off really good with a light scrub pad, lastly go buy a can of some strong high grade clear coat spray paint. 2 coats does a pretty good job. Let them dry overnight and install the next day. :D It made mine look practically new and it should last a while (if you get good paint). And the upside - you dont have to tear apart the actual lenses to do it - (Every time I tried to separate the actual lens from the housing, the thing cracked). Another good tip, while you have the lens assemblies out, get some clear silicone sealant and apply it all around the edge of where the lens connects to the housing - this will prevent any moisture from accumulating within the lens assembly and since its clear, no one will notice it. This whole process dosen't take long at all. I would suggest doing it at night and reinstalling the next day so as to let the paint & adhesives dry. Give it a shot, it worked for me. ~Corey Quote Selected
