aftermarket water temp. gauge install

does anybody know of a spot on the block of a 302 that i can put a water temperature sensor? the hole where the original sensor went has been taken for now for a thermostat for my electric fan and i need to either find another spot or i was also thinking of drilling out the water neck and putting it there? will this work?

I put mine in the back left hand corner, but thats not ideal, slow response and not sure if its accurate.I still have the the dash one hooked up.Ive seen one drill the neck and it worked,or buy a neck with the pipe thread in it.thats on my do list also!!
