I always wonder how much one would reduce underhood temps for the Supercharger. The cooler the air across the charger, the less heat build-up, the faster I go! :hick:

Me like go fast :hick:

My non-intercooled setup runs colder than stock with the cowl hood I have on the Mustang.

I'll throw in my .02  I have had thoughts of using a '64 Thunderbolt hood scoop.  It is a ram-air design with the "inlet" air coming through the headlight area, and heat exiting through the backside of the hood scoop. It's about 1/4" screen.  I have thought about using the area where the center lights are.  Problem would be how to direct the air around the radiator.  Although a photoshop pic with the center lights blacked out (would be black mesh) and the Thunderbolt hood would be cool.  anyone?, anyone?, anyone?, Bueller?

The other thought was using a hood scoop set-up like that on the Challengers.  Alot of metal work to make it work, but I have a spare hood I may try it on.

It's my understanding that the cowl induction hood is more for aerodynamics than function via pulling air into the engine.  But what do I know, lol.

PS:  Mine's carbed with a 351W til the built engine is done.

it doesnt exit through the backside of the air cleaner...  what good would that do?  seriously.

The air cleaners are sealed to those tubes and suck in fresh cold air from the headlights.

I meant the scoop itself.

I think Showcars Bodyparts has just about every hoodscoop every conceived, in case you have more money than time.

I'd like to keep as much of the external stock sheet metal as possible, so if I can use the cowl induction with some underhood mods only, that would be sweet.  I might have to add some other vents or maybe do something like what Gumby is doing.
