side markers - install question

Now that my Thunderbird (Thundercat) has clear side markers (had none at all before of course) I've been trying to find a way to hook them up. My first thought was wow, this will be simple: Just hook it in with the low beams. So I did, and they worked great.. however it drew so much power away from the low beams they were useless - too dim to light anything up. I unhooked the side markers again and they are fine once more. I still want to hook my side markers up but I'm stumped now as to where they can go without causing severe side effects. I can't put them on the low beams, high beams, or fog lights because it will make them unusable.. I don't want to put them on the corner lenses or markers on the front bumper now because I worry it will be too dim to show during daylight hours and I don't want my car smashed in to. I'm afraid to hook it into anything else component wise because I'm afraid they'll draw too much power away from that component.. so.. I'm stumped.. where can these be hooked in to without having negative impact? Better yet.. where do they originally hook into on cars that come with them with them from the factory?

Are we talking about "cornering lamps" here ?  If so, they run off individual relays triggered by the turn signals.

Yeah, I've heard them called that before too. Hmm.. looks like I may have to get creative.

They are designed to activate with the turn signal to light up the area into a turn.  They operate through relays so they stay on steady while the signal is flashing. Would just need the proper cornering lamp relays.
