Stalling April 16, 2005, 12:28:04 PM This is an infrequent problem but annoying nonetheless. 86 Cougar 5.0 When I go to parallel park and I put it in reverse to back into the spot the car stalls. And if I try to start it again it cranks really slow and won't start. I have to wait about 10 mins before I can start it again. This is the only time the car stalls, but it sometimes seems hard to start if I run it a while, shut it off, and try to start it right up again. Is this a starter problem? Quote Selected
Re: Stalling Reply #1 – April 16, 2005, 07:52:23 PM Sounds like 2 probs at once.Starting prob could be starter but i would frist check the battery and see how much it reads then have some one start the car and see what it reads to see if battery is going bad or alt,Then check all wires to the battery and starter make sure there not losse or coroded. If it still seems to crank slow try boosting the car and see if starter works better.I tell u do try this because its all free. If battery is full and starter is good it should spin hard and fast, How is it in the morning when u frist start the car? I bet the starter works mint but when the starter gets hot it works much slower, Quote Selected
Re: Stalling Reply #2 – April 18, 2005, 08:26:43 AM Yes, it starts great in the mornings. But cranks very slow when it's hot. I will check out the things you suggested. Thanks! Quote Selected
