steering rack bushing ?

the rack to k member bushings with the 2 thru bolts. how
big of a pain in the b--t are they to change [88 XR7]
does the whole thing have to be removed-tie rod ends
and all. one bushing isnt looking new. thanks for any
help. --irv toms

are there other racks that bolt in besides cougar
and tbird ?

Fox Mustang racks are the same.On my last Bird,I pulled mine and installed new bushings,new boots and tie rods.Might as well since you have it apart if the rack is still sporting all the factory pieces.

It's easy to do, just disconnect the steering shaft where it goes into the rack, and then slide the rack forward off of the studs, you do not have to take the tie rods loose.

In some cases, the steering rack connection doesn't have to be undone.

a--. didnt bother me  'cause i let him do it.--irv
