making progress on the '85.

Got the bullit rims and stang suspension in with the 4.10:1 gears.  Next mod is the 5 speed and HO conversion.

Thought I'd post some quick pics of it, and see what ya's think so far. :hick:

I'm so glad you got that car back! I'm thinking you saved it from uncertain death. Keep up the great work!

'85 was a good year! lol

those look real good man.

happy with the 4.10?

Thanks.
Don't know, haven't taken it out for a spin yet.  This Cougar will never see another winter in it's life so I still have a few months before I can test the mods out.

Yeah derik.  I definatly saved it from the crusher.  The idiot that I got it back from thought the timing chain broke, and that is why it wouldn't start, so he was starting to part it out  .  Turns out it was exactly what I thought it was.  The fuel line from the sending unit rotted off.  Fixed it and starts and runs great. :giggle:  :rollin: Thank god for those dumb ass  :hick: 's

i must have missed something(maybe  ) but for what its worth, good to hear you got it back. I did'nt know there was an issue.
anyways, i have to say it, you're bout the only one on here that has a coug that looks like its meant for work,, no g around , just ready for some hard runs.  I like the stance on your coug, wish i could land me another 83 or 84. l liked the tail lights and the full "T" shaped dash.

i had two 84's and always wanted to extend the center console to the rear and install the same front console back there as well. I wanted to add bucket seats to the back as well.

I always wanted an 87 or 88 and finally got one.  just over the past few months have i realized how much stronger the 86 and down look in general.

Looking good! Glad that car is back in the hands of someone who will take care of it. You planning on taking this one or the other one to Cat Jam?

Remember... it's not the snow, it's the SALT!

R.J. - I'm guessing you haven't tackled the damage yet being that the damaged side of the car is conspicuously hidden ;)  Looks AWESOME otherwise.

Haha, yep, your right Brian, still gotta get to that.  Looking for an '83- '86 parts coug up here with some suitable parts to fix the damage with.  May just drop it off at the body shop and say, "fix it.  Call me when it's done."

The '85 will be the one coming to CJ'05, the '91 is now just a winter beater.  Unfortunatly  :disappoin

Thanks for all the compliments guys.  As for the all business part, yeah.  I don't hesitat to put my foot through the floor in anger to see what it can do.  The last run it made before I sold it was a 16.1 @ 85Mph.  This year will bring SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER times. (shooting for low 11's - high 10's   :D  )
