WWYD SVT Thunderbird? Reply #16 – April 11, 2008, 08:40:33 PM On closer inspection, this might be a fibreglassed running board. I'm not a fan of running boards on cars. Quote Selected
WWYD SVT Thunderbird? Reply #17 – April 11, 2008, 08:51:09 PM Just about everything mentioned was produced after '87-'88...lol. Think about what they had back then...My perfect SVO 'Bird...a good ol' heapin' helpin' of H.O. power for motivationa T-5standard T/C rear with no changesfull black interior with halo head-restsmustang GT brakes with Mark VII calipersmanual seat tracks/windows/mirrorsrear tire air diverters (like the ones used on the '86 SVO stang)open up the chrome-like LX grill on the header panel and have simply a bird in the middle with a black plastic mesh behind it....those are things they could have easily done back then...without really spending money on redesigning anything (except the header panel obviously)That combination would have been simply impossible though, because it would have been faster than the flagship mustang GT of those years. WWYD SVT Thunderbird? Reply #20 – April 12, 2008, 04:34:38 PM I do wish they had an option box for a V8 T-5 for the Turbo Coupes (transmission, not engine). Throw on a FMIC and the old T3 for a boost in torque, upgraded (less off-road) springs, a perf. leather SVO colour matched threaded shift-, and the same stitching on the seats, SVO steering wheel/centercaps/floormats, Halos, and the ducktail to go with it, to make a full SVO package. Heck, with the FMIC, a ram-air setup from the scoops would have made it a pretty serious package. Considering how many people optioned out their TC's, I bet it would have been a popular sell. WWYD SVT Thunderbird? Reply #21 – April 12, 2008, 07:28:52 PM I tried and tried and tried to get a TC w/ a SBF instead of the 2.3T. I literally called all over the country trying to find a factory option. The HO 302 was my goal of course, but even the lame std motor w/ an auto would have been okay so long as it was a TC everywhere else. Now I'm okay with the Lima, but only because technology has caught up with my performance aspirations. I'm still mulling a small displacement TT V6, maybe like the 2.5 V-dub. Quote Selected

WWYD SVT Thunderbird? Reply #23 – April 14, 2008, 06:44:37 PM Vinnie that was the idea. We are all individuals with different likes and dislikes. I just threw this out to see what everyone likes. Something to stir up the creative side of the brain. Quote Selected
