I'll eventually have some welded in.I'm going under the floor in mine.I just can't bring myself to cut up my floors.i figure that even under the floor,it'll be way better than stock.

THur the floor is much stronger, but more intense to install.
Really depends on the planned use of the car? How much HP and such.

When my car had a blower and a T5 the under floor sub frames were
fine.  Just not up to the task with the turbo combo.

The '83 has under the floor.  However they were installed 9-10 years ago and the car also now has a cage.
The '80 will be getting through the floor SFCs.

I have both Thru-Floor SFCs and Lower SFCs, but I'm setting mine up to play on a twisty track and will be driven on the street.

Unless you are going for a low rider I would do welded under the frame.  You can do your own with some tubes the width of the frame and flat plates.  My T-bird is much more solid after this mod.

I did mine under the floor, but then again I didnt build a 800 HP monster. and they were fairly easy to weld in.
