Cooling hasn't really been an issue on either of our 460 T-Birds.

The 83 has a grille and a huge radiator and a 15 inch mechanical fan.

The 87 Turbo Coupe uses a stock width 2 core rad. (Summit special) and a large 17 inch flex fan with a stock 5.0 fan shroud.

Cars are consistent on temperatures, but then again we are not pushing 700 hp (yet)

I understand that the MK VIII fan is the most powerful electric fan you can buy (even better than most aftermarket ones) and alot of guys swear by them.

The 460 cost is around 30-50 % more than a 302, depending on upgrades.

if you engine swap and you go from pulley type to serentine type pulleys & belts  make sure your fan is pulling air and not pushing it. some water pumps are made to run in opposit direction for different set ups.

If I were to do my 460 TC all over again, I would definitely go stroked 351W.

The 460 is o.k., but it is a pain to drive on the freeway without overdrive.

Since I have so much work in my 460 setup, that's what I will stick with....for now.
