I'm going to rebuild the 8.8 I bought last week and install it later on down the road.No hurry right now. It's too cold outside again.Yesterday it was 79 degrees,today,40.Oklahoma weather is crazy.

Let me elaborate.40 degrees, raining, and windy. The temp is the easy part.LOL.I'm not going to complain much, compared to the northern folks,we don't have a winter time.

On another note, the car is now idling well. The cam has a slight lope to it.I expected that.Kitz warned me.Really good power .I could really feel the difference with the E303 and the heads. Now,I can concentrate on some much needed paint prep. It's nice to have this finished.I drove the car a short while ago,and it easily breaks the tires loose and has the car going down the street a little sideways.A little squirrely,I love it.Decent idle, about 850 right now.I'm pretty happy.

I'm surprised you haven't come across a set of explorer heads for your car.  I picked a set up last fall.

I did have a set.I was told that they wouldn't work with my flat top pistons. So,I sold them on Ebay. That was then, this is now.I may try a pair when I find a set.If an Explorer comes in aat my favorite yard,he said he'd sell me the pair for $150.00.I'll pay that.I'm pretty happy with the engine right now. It's running really strong and feeling good.

Figure it's going to have to idle at least 800-900 RPMs... Hell with the mild cam in mine (@.050 210I/215E, lift .533I/.533E) I have to have it idle at 1050 rpms in park and about 800 rpms in drive when hot or it gets all surgy and stalls when I shift from drive to reverse.

I must be doing something wrong.....Idle is 900 in park 750 in drive:hick:

You'll most likely have to bump yours up a bit with the E cam, Vin....

Mine is about 900 rpms in park.It has a little "rumpity, rumpity" lope to it,yet maintains a good idle.I'm going to try and have a burnout shot today.I have to find someone to grab a pic for me.
