First 1/4 pass of 2008!

kingcars got the first 1/4 pass of 2008 in the books! He dropped over 1 SECOND off of his previous best, and 3 tenths off of the 60' time! The 25th fastest on our board is now at a 15.03, so it's going to take 14's to get in! Looks like this season will pretty good ;) :burnout:

we should factor in a high altitude handicap too.

My Eclipse was a 15 Sec car at sea level and I ran a 17.6 up here best run of 3.

Therefore I would factor in about 1.5 Sec increase.

He did both times. The conversion calculator is pretty darn accurate though.

Guess the thread title should just be "first drag pass" then, huh? Oh well.

High altitude will slow the vehicles a bit but NOT 1.5sec... You need to do some tuning...

It's mostly irrelevant anyway, as barometric pressure and humidity fluctuate wildly which is going to effect the ET... I've run when the baro pressure was so low it was like running at 2000ft and another day when it was high and computed to 1500ft below sea level...

EXACTLY!!!

We run at a true 1500 feet elevation, but our DA is rarely better than 3,000 feet. Good air for me approaches out true elevation, every now and then we get down to 800' with exceptional air.

As Tom said, some of the sea level tracks run at 800' below or more.

Hehe glad to see that run is making a little stir :) .  Like I said in another post, the weather was just perfect yesterday.  55-60 degrees, no humidity, clear blue skies.  Last summer I only got to run it in hot, humid weather, and I didn't have the 3.27s in either.  I'm sure I'll be bumped off the top 25 soon, but I've got some firepower planned for next season.  And seeing a single digit E/T number in my sig is much nicer haha.  Good luck to everyone!

Congrats kingcars!

I'm jealous - my track doesn't open until April 1st :(

I'll be racing quite a bit more this year - I hope to move up a bit myself ;)

In March and early April(also Nov) we can see some really good air, 1000 ft BSL isn't uncommon, but by May it's usually getting humid and pressures are generally in the dumper...

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Your 1,500 feet is all good and well....

I run at 6050 Feet.

And yes it does effect cars that well. I have seen 10 Sec WRX STI's in Mississippi run 11.3's here. Regular WRX STI's run mid 14's.

Ditto, and thanks for knocking me OFF THE TOP 25 LIST!!!!

I'll be back though, once I get the front brakes fixed (so they dont lock up) and some tires that will actualy get some traction.

I'ts bout time that the only cars in the top 25 are in the 14's.

I hope I see you down at Portland this summer Mike but I have been very lazy on the Cad-T-Bird.  No excuse because I have all the parts I need to make a very kick ass nitrous motor.  Need to get busy.
