Spark plug wire routing for 5.0s

This is for both the SO and HO motors. This is important as I will atest that on my old SO I had a spark knock problem and tried this TSB and it fixed it. You need to route your wires like this or you will get a miss fire on a few cylinders. It even does it through good wires (ie Ford Racing 9mm wires). Just a tech tipe for you 5.0 guys :D

Works for me. Try going to the lower right hand corner of the image and a little box with green arrows should show up. Click it and it and the picture becomes really big :D

And that's a common tip for 5.0 engines, "crossfiring"...
My truck ran shiznitty bad, I realized the issue, and adjusted the plug wires and fixed it.

Also, good quality wires will help.

I noticed. I thought the 351Ws were Windsors ;) . Good wires go a long way to prevent this but even with good wires it can happen. Now with py wires (ie Champion) you better use the TSB as a guide to route your wires :hick:

i know those LT1 are notorious for having misfires and such from not routing wires correctly. but i never understood how wires got to be such a mess, if you put them in thier holders, keep them looking nice and neat and dont loop any wires around eachother you wont have any problems. i hate it when people dont take the extra 5 minutes to make it look nice. and it CAN effect performance. not so much in a lower voltage spark like our cars, but c'mon, it is worth for both the appearance and added reliabilty/performance

I got rid of those little plastic clip brackets, I just have all the wires going to each side just kinda globbed together, just sitting there loosely :hick:  I did it to make them easier to work with and remove 1 or 2 or whatever without having to unclip the brackets, not easy to do it quickly with just ur bare hands, it takes some force and I'm lazy :hick:.

No problems here but good to consider!

Wow you are lazy ;)  All it takes to unclip the wire holders is a small screw driver.
