302-306, any idea just how much horsepower and/or torque is created by 4 cubic inches ?

I'm thinking about as much as if you opened the door and pushed your car along with your foot.

or better yet, a 460 based 514 stroker! it would be the right brand and have more cubes either way.

Sure a fresh 306 isn't going to make noticably more power than a fresh 302 with the same parts, but it should make a bit more power than a worn out 302 bandaided together with new rings in a sloppy wore out bore lol.

Outta curiosity, why use points ignition?  Seems like a hassle for no reason.... unless you're in an older car and want to maintain the stock look.  Even then, I'd go maybe with a Pertronix Ignitor.

Depending on the heads you're using, a 30-degree backcut on the valves can do quite a bit.  The article Car Craft did on this based the Ford testing on 351W DOOE heads.  Take a look at the article.
