Windshield washer doesn't want to work

My washer pump stopped working unexpectedly last spring.  I immediately bought a new pump, thinking that had to be the problem but I never got around to installing it until yesterday.  I filled the reservoir, hit the switch and I could hear the motor whirring but all I got was a pathetic little squirt from the nozzle and then nothing, same as before.  I followed the line from the reservoir to the nozzle and it's not leaking or kinked or anything.  What are the odds of something getting stuck in the line?  Anyone?
