First time back at the 1/8th

So Friday night I took Sasha back to the track. It was my first time back in almost a year. I had high hopes of cracking off some of my best times ever. Car was running great, and I was stoked, until I left my friends house after ditching all my intior and all the tools in the trunk. I pulled out on the street and got up to about 30+mph and pouched it, It spooled up and immediately broke the tires loose. and stayed that way till well over 45. I thought "this may be a problem" As it was. I could not get out of the whole to save my life. Every pass I made started in wicked wheel spin leaving me with a depressing best of 10.08 at 70.26mph. And a best 60' of 2.50sec. I was livid by the end of the night. With a last ditch attempt at 9's I upped the boost to 25psi and let her rip. Witch let to spinning the tires through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd before I got squeamish and let out and coasted to a 13.5sec, at 35mph. At the end of the night I was just happy I didn’t brake anything.
I made a decision, that the next time I hit the track I'll be on slicks. Oh, and I'll be spraying a 100shot!

In Amarillo Texas its 3,600 feet above sea level makes it harder to run good times.

What town do you live in?

with only 10 deg BTDC for base timing, 25psi isnt as scary.

Post up a pic of your slip and I'll add you in to the Top 25 database. Good baseline runs for next year ;)

A buddy took his GMC Typhoon to the local 1/8th a couple of weekends ago and wanted me to take my TC. He asked me at the last second and I was so unprepared. I only work about 1 mile from the track but live about 25 miles away so I didn't go home and get the stickies...BIG mistake. His Ty is stock with 45k miles and ran a best of 9.10 that night whereas I did the slip and slide to a 10.10. He poked fun at his suv beating my bird ( awd) but I pointed out our trap speeds (his-72 mph, mine-80mph) and told him that with stickies I should be able to hand him his azz. No rematch yet due to my cyl head being off for follower chunking problems. Can't wait!
TC#1- 2.5T- 10.14@134....9.76@138 with a 50shot

Wow, I always thought typhoon's were quicker than that...I my old 'Bird was running mid to low 9's in the 1/8th at almost 80mph.

With some traction, you'll definitely dog him.  Too bad your don't live up here...good sea level air...great traction (ATCO!) and you could borrow my slicks...lol.  Good luck next time out, I'm excited to see what that thing will do with some traction.
