can I blame it on the Chevy...

Well, went to my dad's house last night, and just as I crested the hill west of his place, the Chevy truck started missing, spitting, sputtering and running rough, like it was outta gas, which, in a matter of speaking, it was. (more about THAT in a sec)

To shorten an otherwise boring story, I put a new fuel filter on it last night, and today a new fuel pump, (after filter didn't fix the prob)
New fuel pump fixed it, returned some sorely-missing power, and whatnot.
Well, we went to town for supper and a few groceries, I drove, and afterwards I dropped him back off, and was headed to my place, when I turned off the gravel onto the highway for about a mile, maybe mile and a half, before I'd be turning onto my gravel, and the highway was clear, no one in sight, long straight stretch, blah blah...so...I opened it up a bit, to see if it really, truly was running better...i got it up to about 65-70.....when...I saw a car sitting on the oncoming side's shoulder...as I got closer, headlights, then the cherries lit up....I was caught!

Trooper gave me a speeding ticket, 70 in a 55....told him I'd put a new fuel pump in it...and since road appeared clear, thought I'd gas on it a little to make sure it wasn't missing, stalling, etc...
Didn't matter to him, a ticket is a ticket.

I'm not throwing a tantrum or some shiznit like that, but I think he could've at least  knocked it down to a 65 or so...I wouldn't have  even sped at all had I seen lights from any other cars. I told him as much, also.

I mean, I sped, and I got caught,
so I know I have to face the consequences..but sometimes..shiznit sucks! :hick:

Least I know the truck has more power now.
Bad thing is, the last ticket I got was in April of '05, right after I got the T-bird licensed after I bought it.

I know, I know lol...but my Fords still outrank the Chevies here, the Tbird is getting the v6 yanked sometime this week, and my truck (92 Ford needs a driver side door.

So...I'm driving Chevies, besides, it keeps the miles off of the Fords, and that Caprice does go like stink :burnout: lol, although I don't want any more  tickets :hick:

sue the auto maker:hick:

see, if the speed limit isnt much over 65 anywhere, why do they make engines that will exceed that speed?

I recently had to change the Cam position sensor in the 99 Cougar. Had a situation like this although i did not get caught ripping up the road because it was like 1 am (and on Laskey) . I noticed that the car was very sluggish because of the bunk sensor but now everything is fine. You could always try and fight the ticket. I should know i have had plenty of em, pretty much all court systems are intrested in is getting your money in the bs form of Court costs and fines.
