No heat 88 Cougar XR 7 February 18, 2005, 03:42:17 AM Ive had no heat for the last 4 years...I've had the heater core replaced twice, new fan clutch, and a new thermostat. Ive also had the heating system flushed out many times. My old mechsanic said it was because I did not drive the car enough, but I doubt it. Some people told me it could be a head gasket, so I had it checked out and was told the head gasket was fine. When I keep the temp setting on the lowest level, the heat will be pretty normal but when I set the level above the lowest, it comes out almost cold. PLEASE help! Quote Selected
Re: No heat 88 Cougar XR 7 Reply #1 – February 18, 2005, 03:56:15 AM check to see if one of the vacume lines got pinched. There are little vacume lines that run through the firewall and open and close the ports or what ever they are called. I would be willing to bet that that is whats wrong. I had the same thing happen. I was alittle dissapointed after spending 11 hours doing a heater core in about 20 degree weather. Quote Selected

Unless I have it on 90* I won't get any heat out of it. If you have the Automatic Temp. Control module go here http://www.coolcats.net/tech/troubleshooting/atc.htmlHope this helps. Quote Selected
