The 84 xr7 pics

Haven't done this yet other than when I bought it and it was in the wrong thread, so here is some updated pics on what this car looks like then and now. Don't have much in money right now so all I can really do is a few things here and there. Since cleaning it doesn't cost me anything (other than electricity) it got a major scrubbing. Enjoy.

Looks good Brian.

I might have a "proper" driver mirror as my 84 XR-7 was the same color. I'm pretty sure I took them off the car before it was sped.

Ive never seen haze polish out of clear like that. That looks  NICE! Needs some different wheels, and Cougar mudflaps, not TBird. That is in great condition.

In order to get the hase out, I used a real aggressive 3m super duty rubbing compound, then finished it up with some run of the mill napa garabage called TECnique finishing glaze, then just some wax. Oh, and a electric buffer with a variable speed selection. Doesn't take long and junk you didn't think would come out, came right out.

Well, chalk me up for that tailight and the mirror. Carl gave me his passenger mirror just so I could make them match, but I would rather have the non-chrome originals back on the myself.

Oh yeah, I took off those mudflaps because they were T-bird and they were all broke and twisted. Different rims? When it gets restored, I will change them too. Hopefully I can win the lottery without playing soon and start restoring this beast.

Brian, I meant what polisher do you use? :hick: I have the Porter-Cable (PC) 7424. I did the 6.5" counterweight mod to use the bigger pads (Lake Country).

As far as liquids go, I use a bunch of stuff, all high-end. The 3M is good stuff for that kind of heavy work.
