long tube will not fit without major modding to them and its not worth it from what i have heard.

Long-tubes fit just fine as long as you don't have column shift...the flowtech headers that I ran on my t-bird just needed a slight dent in the cyl #5 primary where it passed over the stock style motor mounts....the Mac 1 3/4" longtubes on my cougar needed no modifications...the passenger side was a pain in the balls, but it went in...if you need to do "major modification" to a pair of long tube headers to make them fit, then you're doing something wrong.  Both long and short tube headers have their pro's and con's.

Yeah I gotta set going on my project.  Haven't got the motor in yet but I'll let you know if they fit.  I got mine from jegs for 100 bucks.

They're so cheap because they're tightly bend 1 1/2" primaries...good for an SO or maybe a stone stock HO, but not much else.  The flowtech's I had on the 'bird were only $149 from advance auto parts and had 1 5/8" primaries...you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to headers.

That’s what I have and could not get them in I heard there the same as flowtech but not sure I still have them in box some scratch’s and minor rust from long term storage never returned them. If Sick88Tbird saying he got the flowtech in maybe they will fit I think some one else here said they got them to fit a while ago too. Good luck
Other good advice buy some of ChuckW motor Mounts they will help.

According to Summit's application chart:

Automatic Transmission Column Shift = No

I know you went to a floor shifter.  The linkage is all good?  No issues or anything like that?

The jegs long tubes do not fit at all..  I'm pretty sure John got 5 speed ones, they just didn't list them that way.  Go with shorties.

Also you will have to relocate your fuel filter on the passenger side so a ler will clear.  Its easy and the tubes don't need to be cut.
