In all likelihood the speedo module does need replaced. However, if you want to do some further testing, see the photo below from the shop manual.

Another thing: it could possibly be a bad ignition switch. You may want to consider replacing it.

You know,Eric may be right.I lost all dash functions when my ignition switch went out.takes all of 5 minutes to replace,and I believe they cost about $10.00.
