Hi Guys,

I'm doing some porting work and need to ask about the intake parts. After finishing the exhaust manifold and turbo outlet I'm beginning the intake stuff and want to know about the plenum, I have seen them gutted and done as knife edged runners, which is the best way to go ? Gutting the thing or porting the runners? The whole turbo thing is new to me so I read,read,read and then ask so I dont have to do things twice or buy parts I mangled. As always I appreciate any and all help on the matter.

Just to throw in what I'm doing is adding the items listed below for my 87 TC. Still waiting on some parts to arrive before tear down.

Kirban Adj. pressure regulator
fuel rail guage
Walbro 255 LPH intank pump
complete ranger roller camshaft,rockers,lifters
new 3" downpipe into dual 2 1/2 in rears(done)
volvo intercooler
porting & polishing E6 exhaust and intake manifolds/plenum(1/2 done)
porting head
K&N cone filter (done)
replacing my aftermarket EEC (calibration code 1201MG, in it when I bought the car, no idea what it's for) with a LA version (should I use a LA3??)
car has the original IHI turbo in it which I may replace depending on your suggestions, I'm running 17-18lbs of boost now using a gillis valve
Need input on a BOV

I'll entertain any and all suggestions and help from you guys as you have all been there and done that and will definately appreciate any help.

Dump the Ranger Roller idea unless your cam is absolutely shot. They are smaller by a ton, it's much better to go with a new slider up to .454 or a real roller like an Engle 111.

Just port the intakes, the gut/knifeedge is really only effective at max HP at max RPM on big turbo cars. The little IHI will be too small for that.

You can't run a BOV with the VAM, you have to run a BPV back to the inlet.

Your looking at the wrong spot for the EEC #, the "LA" or whatever is at the end of the part #, the calibration codes don't matter.
