My 85' bird..

well...i've been roaming the boards for some time now, and i havent really posted much, so i figured i might as well talk about my bird a bit, lol.
i was gonna post some pics...but umm...well, it doesnt look photo worthy right now. But yeah, moving on... its an 1985 30th anniversary car, power everything, i got it from my dad when he got his truck  :D she's got about 114k miles on her and is my daily driver, engine still runs strong. Only problems i had when i got it was the heater core and water pump went out at the same time, and so did the alternator and voltage regulator, then the drivers side valve cover warped, and i had to smell that nice oil burning off the header smell, had to have the panel replaced on the a/c, the original one finally went out. My passenger window motor just went out, and the door doesnt unlock all the way and the interior handle fell off, lol, so im gonna have to fix that up, since my a/c isnt charged up, all i have is vent air and heat pretty much.
All that and i still love it, hah, and body wise...well...the body was pretty nice, with just a few rust spots, one im gonna have to fix soon as it leaks straight into the trunk when it rains, and some months ago i was slammed into by a driver who ran his stop sign doing about 40 (probably a drunk or high driver), spun me into a 180, knocking my drivers side tail light unit out, and denting my rear quarter panel in, and he kept on haulin, i got the unit back in...but thats on my replace list.
My next accident was a dodge ram 1500 slamming into my rear bumper while i was stopping for a stop sign...she was doing about 35 when she slammed into me...denting my bumper in a bit...and smashing the front of her truck ( i kno its probably mean...but im glad she smashed her truck up worse) then had the nerve to ask me what i was doing, and she got off with a warning...and then i later find out she had no insurance...

But im glad i was in my t-bird both times, i feel safer in that car than anything else really, and its still my daily driver, and i intend to get her fixed back up as close to the way it was when it was brand new.

well...i've blabbed on enough now, just wanted to give some info on my t-bird and all.

Good luck on the body repairs...I just had the front header panel replaced and the fender repaired. Almost no one makes parts for these cars! And the damage report? Almost a cool grand to have those two pieces replaced/repaired and repainted. But thats cool you have loyalty to your car! I like mine too!

Oh yeah...welcome to the board  :D
