Which do you think the culprit is? Reply #1 – June 26, 2007, 06:47:30 AM I doubt it's the Speed Density, but I wouldn't ever run an open Y-Pipe.I'm a full exhaust kind of guy. Quote Selected

Reply #5 – June 26, 2007, 09:14:51 PM Quote from: 88XR7;157021Speed density = bad tuning:flame: My car has a far from stock HO (different heads and cam) and I'm running speed density with NO problems. Speed density will not cause that. Worn out sensors and neglect will. Quote Selected
Which do you think the culprit is? Reply #6 – June 26, 2007, 09:17:29 PM yep,I agree. The Speed density system is good. You just have to make sure you're not trying to get great performance from parts. Quote Selected

Which do you think the culprit is? Reply #9 – June 29, 2007, 06:02:26 PM SD is NOT the white elephant it has been made out to be. Contrary to popular thinking SD can be worked with and can be used with an aftermarket/bigger cam. Just check the first chart below. The second, of course, is another one I post a lot about different size fuel injectors and how different base pressures affect their flow rates. That right there is how you use bigger injectors with SD (works with Mass Air too, but you still need the right meter/sample tube that corresponds for the injectors you are using). It's not uncommon for people to step up to 24's and keep the stock SD computer. Read more here: http://www.50tech.comThat all being said, the best thing to do with any setup other than stock would be to custom calibrate the ECU to get the most out of it. On newer cars (my Mustang, for instance) it's near mandatory otherwise you see the dreaded check engine light and the ECU goes into limp mode. Hell my '05 threw a code and went limp mode when I knocked my EGR tube loose from my air intake after cleaning up under the hood getting ready for Carlisle. That 1/4" I.D. tube sent both 02 sensors into a tailspin. Luckily I found my issue very quickly. Quote Selected
