Speedo Gear?

I have a 88 t/c with a bw t-5 and the speedo went out. I believe its the speedo gear that goes into the tranny. I went to the FORD dealership to get one and they had 4 diff ones. What one do I get? All 4 were different colors what one do I need. It has a 3.55 gear ratio.

depends on which drive gear you have. most are 7-tooth, but there are 8-tooth geared T5's out there.

is your non-existent?

The one out of my '87 TC parts car (T5, 3.55 gears) was black

wierdly enough none of the gears were black. 1 yellow 1 green 1 red and one pink and yeah mine it gone completly.

Thanks for the part number I got the right one but alas it did not fix the issue. Does it matter that i have a kmh instead of a mph cluster?

No, that shouldn't matter. The speedos are internally calibrated and are interchangeable. Check the wiring around the speed sensor, and the connector at the speed sensor. Also check the connection at the instrument cluster - make sure the printed circuit board isn't ripped or corroded and that the cluster plug is fully and correctly inserted, and that no instrument panel retaining screws are pinching any wires
