Drag racing a TC tonight

Too bad it's not Layla :(

John's TC is ready to go so we're going to give it a shot. It's a 100% stock 88 TC with only 2 options, the dual lighted visors and a power moonroof, so it's fairly light. It has a paper filter in the stock airbox, NAPA oil, stock FP, the whole 9 yards. The only mod is a .63/.60 water cooled T3 on a HEAVILY ported E6 with EGR delete. We are running a stock 88 TC IC top-mount. We haven't done any weight-savings, even the A/C is still there.

I'm hoping it goes at least 15's, but reading up the Top 25 it might get as low as 14.4 ish depending on track conditions (which are usually VERY good at PIR) and traction. We have good tires on snowflakes so that shouldn't be an issue. What do you all think? I'll post up results later (and yes, the GTO is going too.)

Better step it up Mikey......Capri went a 12.38 at 112.78 last night, still a T3 turbo.

Dont make me turn Franks up a little more to whomp you too. We still have parts on the shelves but no motivation to get them installed  :nutkick:

Good job Bob!

We got rained out on Friday. Yesterday went well for the GTO, but the TC just had too many issues to run. We're working on it and Layla today and tomorrow. Deuce will be racing Friday if we get it finished.

-Oil Change (the oil level sender and filter were leaking)
-Cone filter
-Install a downpipe (using JUST the cast iron elbow makes for a VERY LOUD exhaust)
-Battery hold-down
-Optima Battery
-Timing Tensioner and adjust timing
-Re-clock T3, install top-mount IC

Hopefully that will do it!

Yeah, an oil change is enough to get us to step it up ;) That the best you got? :stickpoke: hmmmmmmm, I wonder what happens if we put my PE into an 83 TC  ???????????? Maybe Frankie goes 13's??????

No it just NEEDS an oil change because the filter suddenly developed a very large leak and all the old oil fell out :hick:

It's a very, very stock TC with a T3. I'm not expecting any miracles, it's just going to be fun actually breaking the speed limit at the strip.

On another note, Layla's block is ready for the studs and 1035 to go on. The head is in the garage drying ;)
