Body Roll

Now I know these are big cars and they're obviously going to roll around the corners a bit. But is there anyway to eliminate a small portion of this rolling?

Any suggestions?

Sure.  Bigger sway bars, stiffer springs, different shocks/struts.......

There's many different types out there too.  Just do a little research in the suspension part of these forums and you'll hopefully get some ideas on what would work best for what you want.

If you're still running tires similar to the ones shown in your sig, an upgrade to high performance tires (and better wheels) makes a big difference too.

My old '90 2.3L Mustang originally came with a 7/8" front swaybar, no rear bar, and 205/70R14's on steelies. I put on swaybars from a V8 (front & rear) and 10-holes with 225/60R15's on them and holy  what a difference!

Lots you can do.
Stiffen the chassis as much as you can.
Big, aftermarket sway bars with spherical bearing ends.
Del-Alum bushings on lower control arms in front and rear. Generally remove any rubber from the suspension.
Stiffer springs. I used 1000# fronts and about 200# rears and still plenty soft for the street.
Racing valved struts and shocks.
16"-18" lightweight wheels and low profile, SOFT, tires.
Then you'll be cornering so hard and fast you'll need bigger brakes and a racing seat and harness to hold you in.
Have fun!

Biggest difference I've ever noticed is going from the skinny 14's to some wider, shorter sidewall 15's.

Sorry, I don't remember where I got those exact springs. They were black. I had at least 3 sets from various places.
I'm bad about not taking pics. I never knew anyone but me messed with these cars.
And mine got crushed about 4 years ago now. I cut the car up and hauled it all off for s. All my springs, Griggs torque arm, etc. I saved the Konis and brakes, 9", pedals, some interior.
It was a black 87 sport. I miss that car.

I got a way to stop it.

Its called Griggs Racing :)

I'd wager that my 88 has less body roll than most out there, with the exception of mabey Chucks.

Ok I guess I'll give the cheaper solution.  Your car has how many miles?  I just replaced the sway bar bracket bushings and end links on my 83.  An amazing difference from about 40 bucks in parts.  I used all Energy Suspension parts that I got from a local parts store.  Even if your sway bar parts look good replace them.

Does your car have a rear bar?  If not get one, they can be had for next to nothing.  Also the rear control arm bushings can be replaced with E/S parts for about $80 in parts and some time.  Made a hell of a difference on my 88.

Get a set of TC snowflakes, another thing that can be found for next to nothing.  They look great on Cougars and you can find Cougar head center caps on a lot MN-12's and XR-7's that had ten holes.  Get a set of 235/55's I wouldn't go any bigger, I had 245/50's on mine and they bulged a bit.

Just that will make the car handle amazingly better and can be done for near nothing, most expensive part being tires.

Other than that do a good once over on the car and make sure everything is in good shape and no loose suspension parts.

Thanks for the help everyone! Uh the car has 138K I don't know what that transfers to miles but I could always go out to my car and press that button on the dash lol.

And yes I'm still running those spokes, I found 3 good turbines at a junkyard but I couldn't find the last one.

I had about that same mileage when I bought mine.... 11 1/2 years ago.
Now it says 121K (again). But when I press "the button" and do the mile/kilometer calculation, it really means 321K. I hope yours says around 85,700mi.
