Explorer intake questions

Hey guys, I've just been pondering a few ideas of adding a few extra horses to my HO without digging into the engine again, and here's what I've come up with:

- Underdrive Pulleys
- Electric fan (hopefully these 2 will give me at least 240hp)
- Intake (TB/EGR if needed)

I was looking at an Explorer intake setup and I'm just curious as to how well an HO cam would match up.  Would the intake be too much and hinder the engine, or just not provide any benefit?  Also, are the TB and EGR any bigger than the HO's 65mm setup?

Should be fine with your engine. It's about the same as bolting a Cobra intake on a stock HO. You'll gain mid and upper rpm power and have about the same lower end. It's a good upgrade. Oh and the stock HO TB size is 60mm.

Oh yeah, you're right, it is 60mm.  Thanks for the info :) .

...ha, like the HO needs more mid/upper range...she already pulls like a mad mofookie!  Muahaha

When I installed my Explorer intake,I noticed a diference right off the bat.Very nice intake, and after I polished it,it looks better than a Cobra piece (in my own opinion).

Sounds great!  Thanks for the info.

What kinda hp should I expect after the upgrades I listed above?  I will be installing the headers and H-pipe soon, so exhaust won't be an issue.  I'm aiming for at least 250, which I think is a reasonable goal.
