My first program to download was Audiogalaxy. Was very good to be real (in music). I had downloaded near 900 songs. Audiogalaxy wents to a pay system and i left it. I Changed to Morpheus and was very good. 800+ programs and songs and the owners shut down the network. I left and finally get Kazaa lite K++. 2000+ songs and programs. My hard disk has 5800 songs. Dont acuse me to the RIAA...

Limewire is full of spyware.  The install program has a ton of it.  Bit torrent is your cleanest bet right now.  I too stay away from the illegal downloads.  If i get any i get it from friends or from mytunes but i almost never do that.  I end up buying it.  Too easy to get caught any more.
