Drove almost 900 miles just to get stuck in my own driveway! (pics, DUW)

Ended up getting stuck driving my brother to Memphis yestarday sence Greyhound ****ed up his ticket again!

We left my house at 7am yestarday,  got to memphis at around 7 PM and got back to my house at around 6 am!  The trip too and from Memphis took 23 hours!  Took I-70 to I 57,  I-57 to I-55 and to Memphis.  The weather sucked till I got about 100 miles south of Effingham!  Seen a couple trucks off the side of the road.  It wasn't too bad going out.  Probably seen about 10 off the road comming back though!   Roads were pretty shiznitty comming back!  For the last 200 miles I couldn't drive faster than 45mph cause the snow and ice on the interstates were so bad!  Not to mention the ****ing wind blew us all over the place!  But we made it all the way back to indiana to find out that they closed the roads!  So that was a fun last 50 miles.  But we made it back.  And then I go to pull in the ****ing driveway  and discover that there was a hardend hump of Ice!  Got my moms car stuck right on it! $60 for a ****ing tow truck to pull it back out just so I could get a better run and get it stuck worse!

Here's some pics!

Sucks to be this guy!

Its the King!

Outside the welcome center in memphis (when we got lost!)

Of course I couldn't drive all the way down south without picking up some firewords!  :D  Boomland!

Effingham, Ill,  I-57,  most of the interstate looked like this and worse!

Terre Haute,  roads were closed.

And here's what I had to come home too!

I did one better. I was sliding on the road, so instead of trying to correct it and possibly roll my SUV, I drove through the ditch which only had 4 inches of snow, but it had drifted to the north side and was about 2 foot deep. I got stuck parallel to the rode about a foot from it. Took two 4 wheel drive trucks to pull me out. I was PISSED.

After reading your story I expected to see the aftermath of a snowstorm... I dont know what to say... buy snow tires.

Have you driven a fwd in the winter before? i'd drive my sprint 100km in the snow before driving the t-bird 10km. Its  near impossible to get stuck or loose controll of a fwd in the snow.
