THIS SUCKS (a rant)!!!!!

O.K.,here's the deal...a little long....

About 2 weeks ago,my car getshiznit by a kid in a Hummer.The family of said kid state that they would rather pay me personally than get insurance involved.I say fine.I give them a number ($750.00) to call it good.The family says they want their lawyer to draw up a paper that states after they pay me,they are not liable for anything else,and they'll be intouch in a day or two.Well,I wait 3 days,nothing.I call the family,and they say they decided to just file a claim.SOOOO,they file,the insurance calls me and tells me to get estimates.They tell me there are 2 places they prefer.I go to both.One is the Ford dealership.The bodyshop guy comes out to the car,takes one quick look and says there's nothing he can do for me.He can't get parts.Fine.I go to the second place they told me.The lady comes out,takes a couple of pictures,gets on the computer and says she can't find parts,but she'll call a few of her suppliers (salvage yards).Nobody she deals with has parts.SOOOO,she says she can make me a "blind" estimate.meaning,that it's based on an idea of prices.IF,she can find anything.The estimate was somewhere around $750.00.I go to another bodyshop who says he can get everything,and the estimate was $1187.00.SOOO,I fax the estimates to the insurance company in texas last friday,and they say they'll cut a check Monday or Tuesday at the latest.I call yesterday to check on the status,and they say that they want to send an adjuster by to check out the car in a day or two.Now,I'm waiting.This sucks !!! I'm ready to get my check and get some stuff going.I hate insurance companies....a LOT.

WOW! Your insurance don't care of You...

I have another history, In 1985, I was punched in My driver door By a Fox stang, then hitted biy the rear by an oldsmobile cutlas at 100mph, the old's never found by the Police, But the stang stalled here after punched Me...

My driver door was bumped around 1 foot under the car, and I was crushed a bit on the impact, but I'm a strong builted guy and not very injuried in that...

My car was My "famous" Mercury Cyclone Spoiler 1970, there was a clean car, but was ONLY 15 years old at this time, no parts anywhere, no new parts too, when the insurance guy come to My home around 10 days after, see the damages, and look and look again, and Me say it's a rare car, a rare car, like two parrots talk the same words, hehheh!.

Finally the guy take a pic with his polaroid, and the shot was not good, I wanted to have it, I'll donate to Me, take another shot and say SAHIT!, what's happens I say, He say to Me this  home (My home) red brick reflect too good in My car paint, Then He taked another pics around the car, and sit with Me what I want to do with My car...

I say, I rebuilt this, and I wand My car lie before the hit, the guy say, You look a man like Your car and arranfge this for You, Don't worry...

two weeks after This guy come at the garage I work at this time,and need to talk to the boss, and Me!!!,. without a used parts, and obsolete Ford parts, the guy calculated the amount based on the new parts catalg last priced, like a door mirror=200$, ect, the total was of 1536$...

WOW what a deal in My mind, but I scrounged all auto parts/JY of 100 miles arund Me to found a suitable door (fairlane 500 1970/1971), and some other things, I worked a lot in the garage to make My door, but when finished I retreived My Cyclone like before the hit, and 600$ in My hands....

I'll say this only to say, the insurances was not alll a ****er, The one I have seems like the one have in 1985, BUT if I have any hit with My bird, I'll cry My best to have My bird like before the hit, or a good price for that, and I'll keep the "carcass" to make another one, thrust Me!...

Just cry at You insurance and say You want Your car look nice before, that's all, it;s Your car maybe!!!...

Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have a check.The adjuster in Texas said the person coming to look at the car could write a check on the spot.We'll see.My hopes are not at their highest right now.Oh well,I don't have a choice but to wait,so,wait it is.

Hmm, thankfully I haven't had any problems with insurance companies. Hopefully it will work out for you. They are probably going to be a pain because of your car, primarily due to age and book value.

I got a pretty big ding on my car while at work, right on a body line, so I left a note on the persons car. They contacted me to get an estimate which I got at $497. For a ding!
The person said they'd put it through their insurance and sure enough I had a message on my phone from the insurance company. I contacted them, verified the repair location and they hooked me up with a rental car.
Took 3 days to fix the car and never met an adjuster or anything.
So thankfully no problem with insurance, it was just the body shop that fugged up my car for me.
But I'm thinking I didn't have much trouble because it was in 2005, I have a 2005 and the person who hit me took full responsibility.

I'm not sayin "which "one but they will read this .The next post from me will be from one of them.

An insurance adjuster will always come and check the claim to make sure that it is not a fraudulate claim.  If you have the estimate and the price of the parts for the vehicle, the adjuster can check them on line or with a supply house for those kind of parts, The process it not a quick one, they would rather get the claim right and service you to the best of there ability than to have to deal with irrate policyholder etc.  Most of the time if a claim is handled properly that  person wants to become a policyholder.

I know what your going through Vinnie, back in 05 i got rear ended while riding in my brother focus. I told the adjuster that came to talk to me about settling that i wanted about six months to make sure that i would not have any recurring back pains. Well its been six months now and its getting to be like pulling teeth , to find if i will even get a settlement, doubt it tho because i did not miss work. Hope you the best for the rest of your claim.

I got word back from the insurance company today, they are cutting me a check for 800 some odd cents for what happened. The thing that surprised me is that i was not injured did not miss any work or anything i was not really expecting anything from the insurance company.

My estimate was $1187.00 from the only bodyshop that said they could get parts.I HOPE they give me that amount.My fingers are crossed.......tight!!!!

Well,here's the update................The adjuster JUST left my house,he's giving me $832.00 for the door damage.I'll accept that.It could've been worse.
