Head Gasket Replacement January 18, 2005, 11:11:21 AM '86 Cougar LS 5.0 It's pretty obvious that I have a blown head gasket. Coolant mixing in with my oil, bubbles in radiator, lots of condensation coming out of my tailpipe. So i'm gonna get it done, but need to know how much I should expect to pay for this. I'm hopefully gonna have my buddy's dad do it so I should be able to get a pretty good deal on it. Just want to know a ballpark estimate so I can shop around. :shoothead Quote Selected
Re: Head Gasket Replacement Reply #1 – January 19, 2005, 09:08:00 AM UMmm they are pretty expensive. Not sure about the 5.0 though but a turbo 4 was around 1k when my buddy got an estimate. He just ended up doing it himself for 56 bucks and 9 hours of work. Quote Selected
