I just screwed my new 5x7's into the factory holes on the car and tossed the rubber strap.

i just made the hole bigger until it fit. heck, if memory serves me correctly, 6x9s can be made to fit, but i'm not 100% on that.

10" bungee cords and some thick foam to seal the speaker to the rear deck. No cutting necessary for this, and prevents the speaker from rattling the rear deck.

6x9's fit fine, if you mount them from underneath.  I just put them where the surround didnt rub, used a paint pen to mark the holes, and drilled some.  Worked like a charm in all by t-birds.

I just made the rubber straps fit. I literally stretched 'em over the magnets of my Pioneer Premier 6X8's

Had 6x9's in both mine. I just drilled holes and put a machine screw in from the top then used washers and nuts underneath.
