How hard could it be? December 10, 2006, 02:14:47 AM So i'm pretty sure i'm gonna end up with an 86 parts car and i'm gonna take the tranny out for sure and keep it. Here's the plan first i gotta find out if it has the AOD if so I will pull it and i want to rebuild it and put a manual valve body in. Is it really that difficult. Quote Selected

How hard could it be? Reply #3 – December 10, 2006, 02:14:34 PM Yes it's definitely meticulous work. You'd better be rather buttstuff about how clean your work area is. If you choose to do it, just take your time and don't rush thru it. Good luck and have fun :D Quote Selected

How hard could it be? Reply #6 – December 11, 2006, 01:25:07 AM also the AOD has an issue when installing seals... my buddy runs a transmission shop... he had a ton of extra seals n stuff for the transmission, altho there is a plastic insert that is spose to make installation of those seals a snap... it didnt work.. he had to machine the parts to put the seals in it without ruining it.just my .02 cents Quote Selected
How hard could it be? Reply #7 – December 11, 2006, 11:10:02 PM Meticulous doesn't scare me i have great attention to detail when i have time to mess with something. Most of the stuff that i messed up on my car is because i had to get it back together so i could drive home lol. If i have a spare tranny that won't be a problem. Quote Selected

Doesn't seem like it was that expensive either. Quote Selected
