Mud Flaps November 20, 2006, 11:42:53 PM Did Ford make mud flaps for 83-88 Cougars? If not, do ya'll know of any aftermarket ones? Thanks Quote Selected
Mud Flaps Reply #1 – November 21, 2006, 09:50:22 AM They sure do. They were on my car when I bought it, but I saw them hanging at a Ford dealership once, so they are out there. I'm not sure if you can get them from Ford anymore though. Here is a picture of them: Quote Selected
Mud Flaps Reply #2 – November 21, 2006, 10:13:46 AM They're on eBay every so often. For our cars there are 3 types:- Those shown above (technically correct for 1983-88)- Almost the same as above, but with slightly revised lettering to match the 1989-97 cars (see HERE)- White mudflaps with black graphics, both Fox and MN12 stylesThe white ones were never sold as new...I think they came out well after the cars were being produced. I didn't actually find them until the mid-1990s, when I bought them for the convertible. They're pretty uncommon but, as you can imagine, incredibly difficult to keep clean. The rear ones fit right out of the package. Fronts will have to be trimmed slightly around the inner fender bumpouts for the floorpan. There are also these, which are meant for the New Edge Cougars but will probably work on our cars.Anything else you need to know? Mud Flaps Reply #4 – November 22, 2006, 01:45:33 AM Yeah, I've seen those on Ebay, but was'nt sure if they would work. Tonight I won one pair of the black ones and have found a local dealer for the other pair. Evidently, the A or B on the end of the part # indicates front or rear, respectively. Thanks a lot for the great info. Quote Selected
