'88 T-Bird Sport question.....

O.K.,I have a 5.0 T'Bird, but it isn't a Sport.I am picking up my '88 Sport project car this week,or early next week, and want to know what makes it a "Sport"? I haven't looked underneath it to check the rear yet.I am hoping for an 8.8.We'll see.

Thanks, that answers everything.I know this car has full gauges, aftermarket wheels (they'll be sold FAST),tan leather interior (front seats are torn, and will be replaced),full console and floor shifter (those pieces are made of gold,LOL),and it is running and 100% complete.I'll clean it up,and see what i have.It hasn't been pampered at all, but, the body is straight as an arrow, and the only exterior damage i could find is the left rear taillight is broken.I can replace that.I'll get pics as soon as the car comes to it's new home.Hopefully this week.

I spent $100.00 for an H.O cam,Mustang Upper with spacer and throttlebody,19# injectors, and a set of factory Mustang headers.I have an H-Pipe (only has two cats, and they're gutted),and 2 or 3 Mark VII computers to choose from. That should help the old car a little until I get the car sorted out,and money allows for a new H.O engine.

Hmmmm, good question. They looked to be aluminum directional wheels.5 triangular holes in each wheel.I'll try to find a wheel like it in a picture and let you know. They also looked like they have the "rivets' around the edge of the wheel, below the outer lip.Hard to describe.I have a set of 20th anniversary turbines that will go on it for now.

The front seats need some help. The car is a pale gold metallic. It's the factory color.faded pretty bad,but it doesn't matter,it'll be re-painted a different color once the other work is done that I want to do.Once I bring the car home,I'll have all the facts, rear (7.5 or 8.8) gearing, and overall condition of everything.

That's what color my Sport is, pale gold, I hate it, just can't afford new spray yet.

I don't like the pale gold either, but, the car is a Sport model,it's 100% complete, all the vital pieces are intact.I originally wanted it for the shifter, cable and cable bracket, and the rear window and trim.Have you tried to find that trim piece???? After inspecting the car (somewhat),and seeing how straight it was,I decided to fix it up and make something special out of it.I'm gathering the pieces I need to start the project.I'll be searching the local boneyards for seats.I have passed on a few sets of seats from Stangs,T-Birds,and Escorts because they were tan,and now I need them.Oh well, they'll come around again eventually.I may change the interior with a grey color.I haven't decided yet.
