How to install a flexplate Reply #1 – October 21, 2006, 12:09:52 AM I know you dont want to hear this but... drop your tranny and there will be 6 bolts holding it to the end of the crankshaft. if you dont have an impact handy have someone hold the front of the crankshaft with a ratchet and a socket and take them loose and in reverse installing the new one. How to install a flexplate Reply #4 – October 25, 2006, 10:29:20 PM No....just drop the tranny and replace it.Make sure you don't dump ATF all over the place when getting the trans down. Also, make sure you unbolt the converter from the flex plate before you go to pull the trans. You can access the fasteners from the little access port in the front of the plate on the bellhousing. You will need to crank the engine over (by hand) to get to them all. Should only be 4. Quote Selected

How to install a flexplate Reply #6 – October 26, 2006, 11:47:55 AM Unbolt the converter from the flexplate BEFORE you drop the trans. Also, before reinstalling, make sure the converter is seated properly (it might get pulled off of the trans inputs a bit).. Just rotate the coverter while pushing it towards the trans. There are a couple input shafts that it has to engage IIRC. Quote Selected
