truck troubles...wiring

been working on my '76 f150 trying to get it on the road before winter settles in here...needs timing adjustment, couple gaskets, brake work, but the one that's bugging me is the tailights don't work. could be a fuse, but the odd part is that I have headlights, and front turn signals. not getting power to the back of the truck... any other ideas? besides the nut behind the wheel :pbb:

common problem with all trucks. Its possibly a bad ground in the rear especially if the truck is rusty. Check grounds and all wires to make sure nothing is rotted out. but to me it sounds like a bad ground. reground it and check.

think it might be a fuse...not even getting power up through the firewall...either that or the light switch?

rear lights on these trucks can corrode inside the bulb holders. Look at the connections in them. Secondly, use a test light to see if you have power going to the rear bulb holders.

i had to put in new sockets and clean the grounds to get tail lights on my 77. i also had to rewire some things thanks to the previous owner.

i second that, i replaced most of the sockets for my lights because of corrosion. dunno if you'v been hear before but, http://www.broncograveyard.com has alot of desent stuff. i got everything for my 79f250 there. they even have the headlight switch, misc s ect.

yup, py sockets and grounds are most likely the problem. i had to replace the ones in my old 65 f100

one problem LOL...it's a flatbed with Grote lights... not getting power up through the firewall...replaced fuses...so it's either wiring or the switch itself...one other thing...I'm set with parts...between my buddy with like 20 of these for parts, and LMC I'm set...
