I'm only rockin 512 mb ram.  Looks like I can get a cheap gig stick for about 75 bucks.

I just got my software from school, full version of xp sp2 included.  So I may just stick with that for now.

Well, that's it.  Vista has BSOD-ed me and "This Software/Peripheral is not compatible with/approved by Windows Vista"-ed me enough.  I'm clearing out the little bit of files I've downloaded and going back to Win2K.  At least I know it works with every piece of software I have.

While I'm happy with my XP sp2, I wouldn't mind getting to use a computer with Vista, and playing around with it a bit.
I'm for sure not going to be in any big hurry to change over.

I just tried the new FEAR: Extraction Point demo on my computer just for the hell of it, and it ran like a dream!  Even with Vista eating up 40-50% of my RAM.  I can't wait to see my new computer chew it up.

I use both of my computers for bussiness and after the compatability issues I had when I tried to run ie7 beta 2( I couldn't even run my mitchell for crying out loud), I can't afford to test a system and lose all my files and crash my hard drive, maybe after it's been released for a while. We all remember how bad xp was when it first came out

Heh, scracth that 2k thing.  My CD is scratched too badly, that is.  I guess I'll do XP again.  Oh well.  Right now I'm on a quick install of Ubuntu Linux, just so I can be online again, etc.

I had the same problem. Thankfully IE7 uninstalled easily and didn't require a reformat. I wonder if Mitchell would work if you installed it after installing IE7 (instead of the other way around)...

VISTA UPDATE:

Microsoft sent me another pair of DVD's - Windows Vista RC1. One of these days I'll have to actually install it and see what it's like...
