Looking for someone to help me tune my TC!!!

I'm looking for someone in the Pennsylvania {Philadelphia} region to help me tune my TC {'85} up. I'm pretty illiterate with cars and my parents own a pizza shop which leaves my Stepdad with no time to work on my car. I recently have put in new plugs (Autolite #764), plug wires (Motorcraft), cap, rotor and a pcv valve (Motorcraft). The car definitely has a miss in it, but like I said above, I'm car illiterate so I'm not sure on how to fix this. Anyone willing to help a fellow TC buddy out, lemme know, I'd greatly appreciate it and am willing to throw a few bucks at the person!!!!

Too bad you aren't in MO! I'd help you out with the car but Sorry no mental help plan here! LOL. I'd even do it for free except parts that is. Are you a member over at turbo ford post over there they are always willing to help others and they are all over the place.

Well how about educating yourself?

If you actually want to learn, there is a wealth of info on the 2.3T at turboford....

Well, the reason I haven't taken steps into teaching myself is that I have a spinal disorder that limits on how far I can bend, thus making it pretty hard to do any type of work on the motor that calls for me to bend over the engine compartment.

Where about in the Philly area are you located? I could help out during the week if you aren't too far away. It would have to be during the week though as my weekends are dedicated to fixing my and my girlfriend's 2.3T nightmares. But if you aren't too far off, you could possibly swing by the shop I work at and we can have a look at it.

I'm next to the Philadelphia Airport. I google earth from my Zip to yours..says you're about 30 miles or so from me-not too far, but not too close..it's your call!

back to the car, did the miss come after the plugs and wires or was the plugs and wires done to try and fix it.

I'm in Tinicum Township. If I remember, the miss came before the plugs/wires and it's still doing it...I think maybe the timing might be off, but I'm not sure!!

Cool I goto to tinicum all the time to buy gas, right on 291... Tinicum is where the wawa is on 291 right? I'm surprised I never seen your car around. I should have my car on the road this weekend I'm finishing up putting the new motor in. Pm me your number and we'll meet up sometime.

Well regardles of whether you can do the work yourself or not....learning what you can about this and being educated on how your car works is still a good idea.

Thunder, I actually live right off of 291. If you're coming from Philly from the Airport, you'd be going down North 291-I live off of South 291, but it's still pretty close. And, yes-the Wawa is right off 291...where do you buy your gas, Valero, Sunoco or Gulf?!!?

Chuck, very true. Maybe I'll start looking into the 2.3 more!!
