i like the concept, but it wouldnt sell here. jus look at how much of a flop the GTO was, for whatever reason.

I still think it would sell if there were more options in the feild of 4 door, RWD's with V8's. And I know there a max wedge isn't a hemi, I was screwing around.

Maybe because the Holden Monaro is a generic-looking (albeit fast) car pretending to be some late-60s icon?

Sorry, but I just don't get the GTO (or Charger) vs. Falcon comparisons. The Falcon's not pretending to be some legendary car. Sure, there may have been a few reasonably hot Falcons in the 60s like the Falcon Futura/Comet Cyclone, but the originals are pretty generic-looking:

They don't even have to call it a Falcon if/when they bring it over here. They can use some other generic F-name from the past, like Fairmont. Hardly the same as using a name with a lot of nostalgia built up behind it:

I think you have to be a pretty serious Ford-geek (we're talking major obsessive) to put the Falcon name up there with the GTO name.

How about this idea fellas?
Make that Aussie Falon/Boss whatcamacallit in a 2 door version,
subtly modify the nose, and taillight panel into 2 different versions, and voila, new Tbird/Cougar....birng back the Turbocoupe, and Eliminator nameplates as well, with a bit more power, and forced induction...and have an a new-age luxo car that hauls ass...then, they can take the  Mustang, give it 17,000 horsepower, and let the rich folks have em all...:beatyoass:

Seriously though, they oughtta import the Falcon here, in a somewhat revised form, while meeting US emissions and safety standards...and call it the Cougar, or Thunderbird...or Taurus, or wtf ever they vote on...hell, they could call it Yugo II and i'd still want it...

They could even make a , god help us, a 4 door cougar / t bird like the charger. The turbo I6 for the Tc/ XR 7 and then the v6/v8 for base and say the boss for a middle of the road model?

i didnt start the comparison, check out the second pic. i do agree with it however, a car like that would never out sell the mustang here.
