Dropping next week!!! PROBLEMS

i am going to drop my car 2" next week when i get my tires and then get the alinment, i want to go to 245/50/16 but will the wide tires get in the way up front?

i was looking at drop zone springs from texas mustangs, any input on thEM?

will i need bump steer kit

or camber plates?

What shocks and struts do you have?

Caster/Camber plates would be a good idea.

I have my car lowered about 2" and I have problems with bump steer and camber. I do not have problems with rubbing with 245/50 16's...

Spring wise? I dunno.

For one thing don't use mustang lowering springs in the back. I put stock '94 GT springs in the back of mine and it lowered the car at least an inch.

As for the front I bought some BBK '79-04 1.5" front lowering springs off ebay and they brought the front of the car down very nicely as-is.

At a 2" drop you start to run into problems with camber and whatnot...

There is no description with those springs, how do you know that they lower 2 inches? I think you are looking at the price and that is not a good way to lower your Cat. Personally I would save up for one of the proven methods in the Lowering Thread. Or possibly getting a custom set made and some good shocks/struts... Tokicos, Bilstiens, Konis.

But if you go that route please post your results.

If you're broke...don't lower the car yet

You'll wind up running into more issues and then it will wind up costing more in the end.

No info on the "Drop Zone" springs....but one, they're for a Mustang, so the rears won't work well and I bet the spring rates are not any more than stock. These cars really need more rate in the front.

At 2" drop, you'll need C/C plates or some other modifications to get camber back in line. Bump steer might be an issue. I have more tracking(following) issues than bump steer on my car.

I've had some clearance issues with 245/50-16's, mainly with one of the fenders...and at 2" drop...you'll rub.

so rear spring are going to work and i will need chamber plates, so where can i get just front lowering springs. and if my tires are going to rub then what is the best size tire as far as 235's go, dont mind a little skinnier that what the 225/55 are. any suggestions on where to get springs.

what is the differance in progressive and specific springs?

and what is a good spring rate

See my car in my sig? That is it lowered... I don't exactly know the exact amount of drop but I think its close to 2". The only rubbing issue I get and its only in certian situations would be contact with the stupid splash guard that hangs down from the sway bar area.

In the rear I have stock stang springs.. they are perfect. Now you will need atleast 1 1/2" drop sn95 springs for the front to drop it down to about what mine is at. But if you drive your car daily I would hope to stray you away from lowering your car. I hate the ride.....

is a DD but it doesnt ride smooth anyways, never has since i got the rims, even though they are only 16s

so if i get stock sn springs for the back it will work out as lowering springs?

and i cant use fox lowering springs for the front or can i

Yeah you can use fox lowering springs for the front, although in a cougar with a V8 you may end up slightly lower than advertised (since there's a little more weight up front than a V8 mustang)

ok so im thinking 1.5 lowering springs in the front and i want the back a little higher than the front but not to were it is too notice able.

i will need;

front lowering spring for fox mustang

camber plates

bump steer

rear sn stock springs ??

anything else?

and what is a good spring rate?
