just rebuilt my motor and i need help

i need help every one i just rebuilt my engine its a 68 casting 302 bored to 306 and when i fire it up it idles up and down it just goes from 1100 to 850 just going back and forth my mods are

281 keithblack pistons
with H.O. rods they are just newer then the c8's
arp main, rod, and head bolts
on a 10 10 crank
c8 casting heads hand ported
the heads have valves out if e7's
blue racer valve springs up to 560 lift
1.7 roller rockers
comp cam 512 lift 280 duration about 544 with the 1.7's
edelbrock 600 cfm carb
flowmasters with cut offs
headers
torker 2 intake
110 gph fuel pump mechanical

clean the IAC really good then try again.
84 Turbo coupe 2.3T Modded with 88 upper and lower intake, 88 injectors, E6 manifold, T3-4 AR.60 turbo, 31X12X3 FMIC, Homemade MBC , Greddy knock off BPV.

It's carbed ;)


Is your timing spot on (cam and ignition)?  What adjustments have you made to the carb?

its got a duraspark ignition (blue tab) the carb has the choke horn cut off i i tried playing with the air fuel screws and it helped a little well it brought the idel down but it still bounces do you think it might be a timing issue thanks for the help guys let me kow if u need any more info

Could be any number of things. The cam could be a bit aggressive, your cam timing might be off, could be a vac leak, your carb may be way out of whack.  Have you put a vac gauge on it?

Did you set the float level on the carb?  Could be too high and it's spilling into the venturis. 

It's hard to diagnose without actually knowing what's been adjusted and adjusted properly.

ok sounds good tomarrow i will put a vac guage on it and try a carb i know for sure is right on so we can eliminate some stuff and by cam timing do you mean the timing when i installed the timing chain or timing light on the dapmner sorry to be such a drag but i really wanna get it going trying to make it to the track this friday thanks 4 all the help

thanks for all the help every one i fixed the problem my carb was fine i tighten the intake but the prolem was it was sucking oil through one of the hoses that plugs the carb to the valve cover thanks every one for the help
