Looks like my bad luck finaly rubbed off onto someone else!

You guys remember the pictures I posted a few days ago about one of my coworkershiznitting a van.  Well tonight she rearended a truck!  (and this was like right after she told me how it must suck to be driving a RWD car!)  :giggle:

So, why do I see you pulling donuts in the parking lot, drifting through a couple rows of parking spaces then coming back over to her and saying "It must suck to drive FWD."

Seriously, is everyone ok?

It's like on the news the day that we got "Christmas Storm 2004" (god, the names the pick) they had a field reporter out at a road, and she was going on about "If you have rear wheel drive, just stay at home, blah blah blah, too dangerous"  just then you see an F-body pull a scandinavian flick and she's like "Oh, look at that, that sports car almost lost it."  I'm laughing at this point.  Plus, all the cars that they were showing the ENTIRE morning that had slide-offs or were in the ditch were FWD or 4WD.

i think he  is refering to a fishtail, and the reason for fwd or 4wd being in the ditch is because most of the morons think because they have fwd or 4wd they are invincible.to bad they an't drive to save there life

Whats funny,  I was doing doughnuts and sliding around corners all day the other day!  Its fun!

And yes,  she was ok.  just a little wounded pride!

"Scandinavian flick" (or pendulum flick) is one of the old performance driving maneuvers that started out in rally racing.  It's used to start initiate a reverse drift which you carry through the rest of the turn.  Blah blah blah, don't try this, and don't blame me.

Approaching a corner, you feint a turn away from it, countersteer back toward the direction you want, the rear whips around and (if you did it right) you're now facing how you want to go.  Some reccomend locking the brakes after the initial feint to start a four wheel drift, then you countersteer and let off brakes and dropping a gear to whip the rear around.  The whole point is you destabilize it some by throwing the weight around, but you get the rebound grip, plus the back end is already loose so you can take the corner sharper.

Most people with 4wd don't tend to realize that it only helps get them moving, and their braking is the same as everyone else.  I don't know what excuse the silly f/f drivers have.

I know donuts and sliding corners is fun, I just figured you'd be showing off about how "horrible", "scary", and "uncontrollable" it is to drive f/r.
