My Idea List.... *dead/solved*

Brian, since you seem to be my " big brother" around here it's up to you. My freind told me my best bet is a Motocraft 2 barrel but a 4 would be fine. Let me get 2 weeks at my new job and we'll see about me buying it. First I need to get the parts I reserved from some people. I got about $70 in hold. Thats first but I'll keep the offer in mind.

That reminds me of something.  Believe it or not, a 4-barrel will get you better gas mileage than a 2 barrel.  That is, provided you don't drive with a lead foot all the time.

Quick carb lesson.  In a 4-barrel carb, when your car is idling or running at low RPMs, only the front two barrels are operating.  These are called primaries.  When you stomp on it or go to pass someone, etc, the rear barrels open, called the secondaries.

Now, why would 4-barrels give you better gas mileage than 2?  The primaries (the ones that run all the time) on a 4-barrel, are smaller than the only two on a 2-barrel.  Get it?  I'd just save up for a 4-bbl if I were you.

Morocraft cab, Holly, which carb would be better for this kind of app. 750 cfm?

I bought this for my car.  It's a 500 CFM Edelbrock carb with electric choke.  750 CFM is too much for a stock motor and it will bog down a bit.

One question, why the T-56? I know it's a six speed but if your getting it for the extra overdrive don't bother. The T-5 has deeper OD. I wanted the same swap until I found that out.

And you might want to venture over to the spring thread. It'll give you an idea of what works and what doesn't... btw what shocks & struts are you planning to run.

Ok, so that's two questions. ;)
