built AOD transmission w/t-converter+shift kit August 03, 2006, 04:41:39 PM I am selling a 88 AOD transmission from my thunderbird. The tranny has been rebuilt with HD comp. It has a heavy duty shift kit and torque converter. Can hold more than 450HP!!!! I ran the transmission for about 8 months. And then switched to my 5 speed. It has less than 2000 miles on it. I had taken it to Precision Transmisson for the rebuild because it came out of a v6 bird but with my v8 engine i burned it up. So the tranny placed updated it to the heavy duty bigger clutch packs and heavy duty bands. When the tranny was in my bird with a stock 7.5 rear end i could get tire cherp in 3rd.
