I used silver duplicolor header paint on mine. Works ok but starts to flake off a little after a few months. Since my car goes to shows a lot I just touch it up once a year. It looks pretty good.
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.

I'd tell you to put those in you checked luggage. At springfield/branson airport they pulled me aside and dug in my bag and told me that I could only have 2 packs of matches.  They even boudle checked me with a pat down.
