Anyone know stuff about Canon Rebel series cameras?

I'm thinking of getting one for Ashlie for Christmas, however I'm only gonna be able to afford a film one (not a digital), and it's gonna have to be a used/reman one.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  There are several cheap ones on eBay... as an example:

A used one with accessories...

Here's a remanufactured one

Some of the auctions say "Canon Rebel Body" for example.  Does it mean I don't get the whole camera?  Is it just everything but the lens?  Sorry I'm a n00b when it comes to real cameras.

well what I do know may or may not help ya....  but the one you showed on ebay was $134.....  I just got a 4mp 3X optical zoom kodak digital camera from dell for 169 free shipping.....  the way I got the price was going to yahoo.com  then click  shopping,  typed in model  (which was kodak cx7430)  compared prices and found it........maybe this will help ya      also I had to get a SD card  buy.com has 256MB ones for 20 bucks after a rebate with free shipping  or 128mb for 10.99 after rebate but gotta pay shipping if you order under 25 bucks

maybe it helps ya  hope so

just gotta be careful if you buy a cannon digital camera, if you use an aftermarket lense on them, that will be stored in the camera, and the warrenty will be void, i dont think its the same with the film cameras, but im not 100% sure
It's Gumby's fault.

I really can't afford a "real" Canon Digital like I'd like to get her.  So I'll probably end up getting one of the used 35mm deals.

And yes, "body" means just the body.

No lens, no other accessories at all (usually), like a flash, carrying case, strap, batteries, lens caps, filters, rolls of film, lens cleaner, tripod, photo albums, no-doze for looking at albums, special albums for your bare-butt baby pictures, little sticky corners to hold your bare-butt baby pictures in the albums.....
Death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.
